Kyrewood Equestrian Centre Ltd is required to conform with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992. As entrants in the Kyrewood Variety Horse Show at this venue, you are obligated to accept responsibility in relation to operation and use of our “Place of Employment” within the focus of the Act, which is to eliminate, isolate or minimize risk to personal health and safety. Kyrewood Equestrian Centre is responsible for presenting a safe venue to use. As a user of these facilities you are required to take all practical measures to manage and supervise the health and safety of your participation in events. The Act embodies a considerable measure of commonsense, with the key being to identify potential risks in advance by practical management application. A list of identified hazards is displayed on the notice board at the Competition Centre. Potential risks include:
- Riding and leading horses and ponies in public areas
- Unstable platforms, jumps and fencing
- Motor vehicles on this site
All competitors and their families camping on the grounds overnight are cordially invited to a BBQ, to be held at the Competition Centre on Saturday evening
TROPHIES - Kyrewood owns a number of valuable trophies, which used to be presented each year and held by the winner until one month prior to the next Show. After several breakages requiring costly repairs and in one case the demise of the trophy, it was decided to retain the trophies and only make them available on the day of the Show for photo sessions.
We feel this rather defeats the object of having the trophies so it has been decided that the winners may take them home on payment of a bond of $50 per trophy. This will be refunded in full if the trophy is returned one month prior to the next Show in exactly the condition it was in at the time of winning.
